Municipal Projects
Molnar Jordan & Associates, Inc. has experience designing municipal facilities from new buildings, tenant fit-outs, to major renovations.
Municipal Facility design experience include:
Jefferson Place Career Center (Atlanta, Georgia)
The Jefferson Place Career Center is an adaptive reuse of the Old Fulton County Detention Facility. This project involved renovating two wings of the old jail facility to be converted into offices. The type of construction and low clearances provided many challenges to serve the areas renovated. Mechanical design included complete load calculations, unit selections, and distribution design to fit the low clearances allowed. The mechanical systems also tied into the existing central plant systems. Electrical design included metering, panels, and power distribution. Plumbing design included providing sanitary and water from the existing systems in the building.
Environmental Services Building (Athens, Georgia)
The Environmental Services Building is an 18,000 square foot administration and laboratory building for Athens – Clarke County. The facility provides water quality testing and monitoring for the J.G. Beecham Waste Treatment Facility. The building houses a 4,600 square foot modern laboratory. The facility was designed around and is seeking LEED Certified status. Mechanical design included complete load calculations, unit selections, distribution design, and pressurization controls. Electrical design included metering, panels, and power distribution. Plumbing design included providing sanitary, water, acid waste, compressed air, central laboratory vacuum, and natural gas for the facility.
Dekalb 330 West (Decatur, Georgia)
The Dekalb 330 West Project was a renovation of an existing facility to accommodate personnel relocation. The project was phased to allow personnel to be shifted within the same building. The preference for the owner was to reuse as much of the existing systems and equipment as possible. Mechanical design included load calculations, equipment reuse, distribution design modifications, and system rebalancing. Electrical design included redesign of the power distribution to accommodate new partition arrangements and furniture layout. Plumbing design included providing sanitary and water for the new break room.
